Nuclear Waste Elimination Project

Accelerator Transmutation of Nuclear Waste (ATW) is the bombardment of nuclear waste by neutron beams which transmute radioactive isotopes into non-radioactive isotopes. This changes the waste category type from hazardous to benign. Once benign all the nuclear waste in the world poses no hazard to anyone and billion dollar projects like Yucca mountain can be abandoned thus realizing annual billions saved.

As described in the link below, there is a government-collected Nuclear Waste Fund of $43B, directed by Congress to attack the nuclear waste problem, but this fund is not being deployed towards elimination. Instead, all nuclear contractors perform move & burial operations but not elimination of the hazard. My mATW proposal is apparently the only one in the world proposing to eliminate the waste once and for all.

The field of Accelerator Transmutation of Nuclear Waste (ATW) has been developed for more than 50 years, and is fully described in both international and US government reports published in 1990s and 2000s. Links to these reports and my own descriptions of ATW subtypes are available for further background descriptions on General Scientifics, under the folder tab "Accelerator Transmutation".

My own analysis of ATW described at GS identifies three types of neutron generation, by proton (p) beams on target, by tokamaks (t) or by muon (m) beams on target. I call these pATW, tATW and mATW. If it is asked why ATW has not been deployed so far, the fault lies with pATW and tATW which have been developed, p more extensively than t. My new variant mATW has never before been proposed and it is hoped is a new form factor without barriers of pATW and tATW.

State of Florida SBDC guidelines provide questionnaire for business start ups, and the proposed mATW questionnaire is here:
